Astro-knot canvases can be used as a portable guide in your astronomical gazing, framed as a canvas, or token in personal ritual space. Each panel features a beadwork weaving of a constellation; all graph designs are my own as referenced from astronomical maps  

Every painting features in-house made botanical inks that were brewed from locally harvested sumac berries + riverbank grapes so their vibrant tones reflect the landscapes in our community.

The fifth largest constellation is named after the Roman mythological figure Hercules (adapted from the Greek Heracles). Within it you can find the quadrangle shaped “Keystone” a known asterism, the large astro explosion Supernova 2018cow, and Abell 39 almost perfectly spherical planetary nebula! The Hercules–Corona Borealis Great Wall, the largest structure in the universe, is also in Hercules.

In Chinese astronomy this area corresponds with the Purple Forbidden Enclosure and the Heavenly Market Enclosure.

Earlier references named it “the Kneeler”. Hercules is also sometimes associated with Gilgamesh, a Sumerian mythological hero. According to some Babylonian mythos the constellation is known as the "Standing Gods" (MUL.DINGIR.GUB.BA.MESH)
